Our RUmBA platform offers a central data platform for experts and the population in the One Health region of Vorpommern.
Whether against acne or pneumonia, against a wound infection on your pet's paw, for your beloved livestock or as a toilet cleaner - antibiotics and biocides are used in many different ways today. They are known as life-saving active ingredients, but incorrect use can lead to serious resistance. Bacteria can "get used to" antibiotics and adapt to the active ingredients through special protective mechanisms. They become insensitive. Competent and conscious handling of antibiotics and biocides by all those involved is therefore a decisive step against the spread of such resistance.
In the "RUmBA" project, we want to reach, network and involve all stakeholders in order to promote the rational use of antibiotics regionally.
We are developing and operating a web-based platform and database for regional antibiotic and biocide surveillance in Western Pomerania. It is intended to help collect, process and understand knowledge on the topics of antibiotic and biocide consumption and other One Health topics.
Our platform is therefore not just a repository, but also a helper and driver for information and data requirements, for example for teaching and educating the public.
In the One Health context, we focus on:
RUmBA is therefore the ideal place for our colleagues in the T!Raum to exchange ideas and present their own results in the context of the entire One Health region of Vorpommern. The RUmBA platform serves not only to communicate science, but also to connect the work of the entire T!Raum.
